GEA Westfalia's horizontal centrifuges -decanters- are used for a wide range of processes, achieving remarkable results concerning the dewatering of the solids.
More specifically, decanters separate the solids from a liquid stream so that the liquid phase is obtained almost free of solids. Subsequently, they ensure maximum dehydration of the solids, so that they are as dry and moisture-free as possible. In addition, they offer the possibility of separating two immiscible liquids with simultaneous solid extraction from the mixture. An additional operation is the thickening of the sludge and the biomass that will lead to digestion. All the above-mentioned are achieved thanks to the power of mechanical centrifugation, the high level of expertise and the many years of experience of GEA Westfalia.
