Fuel Efficiency Monitoring System

Our fuel oil efficiency monitoring systems measure not only fuel consumption but also the various KPIs that impact your ship’s efficiency. The data is processed through a PLC and visually displayed on a touchscreen panel. Designed with a modular approach, the systems can monitor data from up to two main engines with their associated propulsion systems and up to four auxiliary consumers with different energy outputs. For each individual consumer, the system can record up to three different types of fuel oil (or gas). Additionally, data from the navigation bridge—such as GPS, speed log, wind meter, and echo sounder—is recorded.

In addition to real-time consumption and efficiency metrics, the system includes 24-hour and separate voyage counters, as well as a speed trial function to assess propulsion and hull performance. The system’s features are further enhanced with various dashboards, graphs, and alarm settings.

The fuel efficiency monitoring systems automatically generate several reports in CSV format, which are stored onboard. These files can be opened in Excel or used as input for analysis software (see also online reporting and analysis). Available reports include:

  • Log files
  • Daily reports
  • Voyage reports
  • Voyage update/progress reports
  • Fuel oil changeover reports
  • Speed trial reports
  • MRV reports

These reports are accessible from any shipboard computer connected to the ship's Ethernet network. Ship officers can use them to create reports or send them directly to shore offices.
All data can also be accessed from the system via MODBUS over Ethernet, allowing integration with other management software.
